Happy Fathers' Day!

We love this daddy!
So we let him take a nap today.
Then we made one of his favorites - lasagna!
Zoee was in charge of the cheese layers...
Jaden was in charge of the meat layers...

Mom did the noodles and sauce.
And Zion provided moral support while enjoying Cheerios.
At one point, it looked pretty scary...
But we finished it off with a pretty top layer and it came out beautifully and tasted delicious!
We topped Fathers' Day off with some cheesecake and a bag a gummy bears for daddy! :)
Daniel and I were able to spend a couple of days in Flagstaff at a husband & wife seminar with his work. We got to do some fun and kind of scary activities which helped us rely on each other and draw symbolism about relying on the Savior and His atonement. It was great. In addition, the weather was wonderful! So nice to escape our dreadful heat for a couple of days! Here is a sampling of some of the things we did.

We climbed a pole 4 stories high, then walked across a beam, then got lowered down. I don't know the correct terminology, but Daniel and I were anchors for each other on our rope supports and for lowering. When I was lowering Daniel down, he picked me right up off the ground. Luckily, they had prepared for that and there was somebody behind me holding my harness.

I was quivering all the way across the beam, especially when I looked down. So I just charged ahead and went as fast as I could without falling to get it finished before I got too scared.

Daniel climbed up this perch thing and jumped off, but I had had enough excitement in my day up to that point that I felt okay passing on this one.

This is not a picture of us, but we also did this one. You climb up the pole, then walk across a wobbly wire in a Y shape with those hanging ropes to hang onto and meet in the middle.

Zion was a great spectator, and even made himself a little friend. Every time they saw each other during the two days, they started talking jibberish back and forth, and the little girl kept trying to share her binky with Zion. It was hilarious and so cute! :)
We also got to do some hiking and exploring some cave homes from an ancient Indian civilization.

June

We've finally decided we are here to stay for a while...and we are finally getting around to some home projects to make our home just the way we want it. I painted the 3 kids bedrooms about a year and a half ago...then I had baby Zi. The kids helped get the painting started again! It will probably take another year and a half to get the house done, but so far we have done one bathroom and the family room! :) We have also been hanging some cabinets and doing some redecorating! :)
My handsome boys in their tuxedos. I found a full tuxedo in Jadens size at a yard sale for $1. My little king of dress up was so excited! I think it was better than Christmas. He has worn it to church every Sunday since...and even squeezes it into his mid week dress up schedule sometimes. For $1, I let him wear it whenever he wants! :)

?? The sword fighting swimmer ??
Zoee's job while mom takes a shower.
 Just checkin' out the dishwasher.

We just completed our 2 week Summer session of swim lessons. This was Jaden's third year and Zoee's first. They both did great!
