Apparently my attempt at NaBloPoMo (posting each day through the month of November for National Blog Posting Month) has created a few addicts. I have been informed that I am not keeping up with my blogging - so here you go, a new post! :) I'm glad to know there are a few readers out there! :)
There are two things that Jaden really looks forward to - the garbage truck twice a week and the ice cream truck once a week. If we miss either, I'm in trouble. So twice a week, we stand outside in the morning and watch as the garbage truck drives down our street and dumps our "stink bums" (as Jaden calls Zoee's diapers). (Sometimes it's really embarrassing because I have stuffed the garbage can so full that the driver has to keep banging it against the truck to get all of the stink bums and other stuff dislodged.) Then Jaden waves at the garbage man, and he is as happy as can be.

Once a week the ice cream truck comes. It's ridiculous that what we buy from the ice cream truck for $1, is in a box of 12 for $2 at WalMart, but I guess the fun of running out to the truck makes it worth the dollar for Jaden. Grandma "Thann" and Grandpa Dennis heard about the ice cream truck, so they sent Jaden 3 $1 bills. He has been guarding those with his life, carrying them all over the house, and wanting to take them everywhere he goes, encase he sees the ice cream truck!
Usually we just hear the music, walk out to the street, get Jaden's ice cream, and we're done. Well, this last week, it wasn't so simple. We heard the music - on the WRONG day! We ran outside to see the ice cream truck clear down at the end of the street already. I almost thought we would just have to miss the truck, because it was so far away, and Zoee was inside sleeping. Then Jaden looked at me with his big blue eyes and said in desperation - "mommy, carry me please, run, catch the truck!!" So I said, "Okay, run get your shoes and your dollar, and let's go!" I got the stroller out of the garage, ripped Zoee out of her blissful nap, and put her in the stoller as Jaden came running out of the house with a penny, a dollar, and his shoes on the wrong feet. I had slept on my hair wet the night before, so it was an awful mess, my teeth weren't brushed, and I had no make-up on. But this was important! :) So off we ran in the double stroller. We got so close, and then the ice cream truck took off again! As he weaved through the neighborhood, we would weave the opposite way, trying to guess which street he was going to come back down, and of course we guessed wrong, and had to take off running again. Well, we finally caught the truck. I wanted to cuss him out for coming on the wrong day, but instead I just lifted Jaden up to the truck with a smile, with my fro hair, my make-up less face, and all sweaty from running all over the neighborhood pushing a double stroller. The ice cream man gave Jaden his ice cream and Jaden handed him a penny. So I had to help Jaden recalculate, and then we were on our way back home. Jaden was so happy, Zoee was mad, and mom was exhausted! :)
I did have the camera in the stroller, so I decided to take a few pictures of the crazy day, so I could laugh about it later! :)
