Jaden & the Scary Hair

Kids are so much fun! Jaden and I have been having fun going through junk to get ready to move. I'm happy that he enjoys my nonsense - we have such a good time! The wig is headed to DI, but I'm going to keep the little boy!

SOLD!

Well, we put the For Sale sign up on Saturday, and sold our trailer on Tuesday. We had 3 families lined up to come see it Tuesday & Wednesday. However, the first one to come wanted to buy! We are excited and should have a good down payment to buy a house...wherever it is that we may be moving! We have to be out by June 1st, so we will be staying with my parents for a few weeks until we find a new place to live! I am so happy that our home is sold, but I'm not sure I ever want to do that again! The last little while has been torture getting it ready to sell, as every scratch in the paint or speck of dirt suddenly got magnified and it seemed that the cleaning and fixing would never end!

Jaden Videos

Jaden loves to chat on the phone. He has a great time talking and giggling with his mystery caller. But every time I get the camera on him, he stops immediately. The other day, I got a little clip of him having a good time on the phone before he caught me!

The other day, Jaden decided to dump Cheerios all over the living room. So we decided he would have to clean them up. He had a great time running the vacuum into the furniture, but unfortunately, didn't get many of the Cheerios!

Getting Ready For Sale!

Yesterday, Daniel and I worked on the outside of our house for 11 hours! We started early in the morning and worked all day long! We scraped and repainted the trim, the shutters, and 2 porches. Then we got the yard all cleaned up and mowed, and planted flowers in the flower garden. We finished off by putting our for sale sign up!
Jaden was a great little helper, painting part of the house the trim color, giving his basketball a fresh coat of paint, and dumping the flowers out of their trays and onto the grass before we got them planted (to make it easier for mommy to get them in the flower garden, of course). He had a great time playing outside in the yard all day long. And the best part...he didn't wake up at all last night and let mommy sleep in until 8:30 this morning!
We think the house looks great, and we're so glad to have it done! We've already had some calls, and will be doing the first showing on Tuesday!

Horrah for Great Deals!

So, during my first pregnancy, I was appalled at how much maternity pants cost. Why would I want to spend $30 + on a pair of pants that I could only wear when I was fat? Therefore, I survived the pregnancy with 2 pair of maternity pants and a couple of pair of capris. Well, since we got snow last week, we're obviously not having too many days of capri weather, and I am not into doing laundry every other day. So I decided to go to Old Navy to see if I could find a pair or two of somewhat affordable and decent looking maternity pants. But, oh, I got way more than I bargained for...It was maternity pants heaven on the clearance rack, as they were clearing out their long pants and bringing in the shorts/capris. They had them in MY size, they were CUTE, and they ranged in price from $6-$15! Miracle of all miracles!

So about an hour later, after Jaden had narrated the whole trying on process and opened the dressing room door a few times, we left Old Navy down $54 and up 5 new pair of cute maternity pants. What a deal! I guess I'm good for another pregnancy or two now! :)

Here are a few more pics that we didn't have "befores" to go with, but the "afters" ARE much better! :)

Home Improvement Projects!

Here's a little sample of what we've been doing in the house the
past 2 years. In 2006, we moved into 1970's heaven. It's amazing what a lot of cleaning, a little paint and tile, and many hours of work can do! We're quite pleased with the outcome, and since we did everything ourselves, it was a very cheap makeover!

...And We're In!!

Daniel's reaction to the news after we got back to the car!

They moved the interview up one day, and we found out the great news tonight! Daniel has been hired as a full-time seminary teacher! There were 8 teachers up for hire from the training center in our area - 5 got hired and 3 didn't. There were only 32 spots open nationwide this year, so we were really holding our breath... We are so grateful and so relieved! Salary and insurance starts May 20th. We are so happy that we will have some insurance in time for our baby to come! We don't know where we are going to be placed, but we have been told that there are no openings in Southeastern Idaho, so we need to start preparing to move. Daniel's supervisor told us that during the hiring meeting, all those that had interviewed us had agreed that we were a very mature couple that could handle being sent anywhere. So we may get a..."here we come timbucktoo!!" :) We're so happy to have the job that we think we can handle just about anywhere for the first few years!!

An Interesting Way to Eat an "Ap"

The other day when I was fixing lunch, I opened the fridge to get something. While I was getting what I needed, Jaden grabbed and apple off the shelf and handed it to me, saying "ap, ap," which translated means "please wash this apple; I want to eat it." So I washed it off and handed it back to him, thinking he would chew on it for a while and get tired of it. Well, the next thing I knew, I found him on the couch with the apple half eaten...from the top down - stem, core, and everything...hmm, well, I guess all I can say is Go, fiber! :) I did cut up the other half of the apple for him and removed the core before he tried to devour that as well! :)

He's No Small Fry in this Family :)

Here are some pictures from some recent family events. Daniel gets a kick out of the fact that at 5’6,” he’s usually a head taller than everyone in my family. And even in the picture with my extended family, he’s still right up there with the tallest of the tall!

Ready for Date Night!

Once a week, we have a date night. It's the night we get to eat out and do something fun together. No one has to cook and no one has to do dishes! Once in a while Daniel and I will get a babysitter, but most of the time Jaden just comes along, and we all have fun together. This week we ate at a new Italian Restaurant here in town, and rented the movie August Rush. It had a warm fuzzy ending, just the way I like it! We have enjoyed having a couple extra days of Daniel, since he has been on Spring break, and have really done a lot of fun and relaxing things this weekend!

Zoee Kicks Daddy!

Last night (April 12) as we were getting ready to go to sleep, Zoee decided to start a gymnastics routine. She was flipping and kicking like crazy! I have been feeling her move for several weeks, but they were just little kicks that couldn't be felt from the outside. However, last night she was wiggly enough to be felt inside and out, so Daniel got to feel her move for the first time. It was so fun for him! We love feeling that little life in there!

Birthday Party/General Conference Weekend

Jaden giving Great-Grandma Price a kiss!

Last weekend (April 5th & 6th), we spent at Great-Grandma & Grandpa Price's house. We had a surprise early birthday celebration for Grandma Price's 80th birthday with most of the aunt, uncles, and cousins.
We also got to watch the 4 sessions of General Conference together. Twice each year, we get to hear from the Prophet and 12 Apostles and other general authorities of the Church. We always receive hope and encouragement, as we hear messages about our Heavenly Father, our Savior Jesus Christ, and Their gospel teachings. It's a wonderful opportunity, and we always come away uplifted and with a resolve to become better.

What a Busy Week of Fun!

-I'm a real cowboy with my Grandpa's boots on!
-Cruisin' with my beanie on!
-Play day with my buddy, Elli
-Planting flower seeds with mommy. I gave them a BIG drink of water...we'll see if they survived the flood! :)
-The perfect end to the perfect week: A Saturday afternoon nap with daddy!

Haircuts!

The other day, while daddy was at work, mom decided to get crazy with the scissors!
I got some fun new short bangs, and Jaden got a fabulous haircut (with just a couple of uneven baldish looking spots in the back). I guess that's what you get from an inexperienced hairdresser and a wiggly head! He knows to stay away from scissors because they are "owie," so the entire haircut he was saying "owie" and trying to dodge the scissors. Jaden wasn't so thrilled about modeling afterward either, so he was trying to hide behind the chair when I turned the camera on him.
I asked Daniel if I could cut his hair next, but he politely declined... :)

Spring Has Sprung!

We are so excited that our hometown, which has the deserved nickname of "Iceberg," has finally thawed! After having 3 feet of snow in our yard all Winter, we are just thrilled about the brown grass we have now! The temperature has jumped from the 30-40 degree range to the 60s this past week! Yeah, we love the sun! We have been playing outside almost everyday. We had a fun family day at our community park on Friday. Jaden had forgotten how much he loved the swings, and was giggling like crazy! I got a little video of him and his crazy, wonderful daddy playing on the swing!

The Countdown!

The paper chain in getting shorter!!!

Daniel had his last teaching evaluation last week, from the Southeast Idaho director. Everything went well, and he told Daniel that he would definitely be recommending him for hire. However, he said that it was unlikely that we would be able to stay in the area, due to the large number of teachers that have already been teaching elsewhere for several years and now want to return to Southeast Idaho. So it's looking like a move may be in store for this Summer...

We are now counting down the final 9 days! We will find out if Daniel has a job on April 18th, and then we will find out what location he has been placed in by mid-May. If we have to move, we're hoping to be able to do so late June or early July, so we can get somewhat settled in before the baby comes! We'll keep the blog updated and will be making several phone calls as we find out more info!

Belly Shot

I've had some requests for a belly shot. I've been a little hesitant to share, because I am at the not so pleasant looking stage of, "sort of look pregnant, but mostly just look really chubby." But here you go anyway! I did graduate to the elastic waisted pants this last week. Ugh- I try to put that off as long as possible...:) I love the product after pregnancy, but the process is sure not my favorite! :) We are now at 21 weeks- more than half way there! Yay!

Jaden's First "Frohawk"

I just combed his hair and thought it was cute, but Daniel, who is around high school students all day, informed me that this was indeed a "frohawk" :)

Ultrasound Results!!

We had our ultrasound today. Everything looked good and healthy.

And, it's a ....GIRL! Daniel was right again, as well as 71% of you that voted! So we are now excitedly preparing for our little Zoee Jane! She was very cooperative for the camera, sucking with her little lips and putting her hand up on her head, as pictured here. It was a fun experience! The miracle of life never ceases to be amazing!

Happy Life! :)

Life is, for the most part, pretty uncomplicated for me right now. I do have busy days and crazy days sometimes. But most days are just nice. Sure, there are things I would never call fun involved in my days, like doing the dishes, folding the laundry, changing poopy diapers, and going to Dr's appointments. But I am so grateful that there is now time in my day for those fun and enjoyable things such as exercising, reading, dancing around the house like a one-year-old, cooking good meals, baking fun things with Jaden, and taking a nap nearly every day! These are things that would be be very hard or nearly impossible to squeeze in if I had to deal with the stress of work along with being a mommy. I can't remember when life has ever been this uncomplicated, nor do I know how long it will last (hopefully at least until the next baby comes in August, or until the next move, possibly this Summer...). So I am just enjoying the moments, and am thankful to my husband for letting it be this way...

Monkey see, monkey do... I walked into the bedroom to this funny scene the other day- he even had my shoes on, trying to get that thing to go !:)
