ATTENTION ALL DIAPER BUYERS - GREAT DEAL!!

I recently found a great deal on diapers, so I wanted to share it with all my friends.

I got a code from a friend to use at diapers.com to get a $10 discount. (The discount is for first time customers only.) When I signed up, they gave me my own code to share with all of my friends to get a $10 discount. (Apparantly, I get credit to my account for sharing the code. But I don't really care about that, as I probably won't be ordering a second time. It seems that the deal is only fabulous for first time orders.)

Anyway the $10 discount code is: TEN4ME
AND 1st time customers can either get a free subscription to Parenting magazine OR you can choose to get a rebate instead for the magazine value of $14.97 with any $15 purchase.

If your order is $49 or more, you get free shipping.

So this is how it works:
Go to diapers.com and sign up for an account
Order at least $49 worth of diapers
At checkout, enter discount code CAMI9492
Print your confirmation receipt and print this rebate form REBATE HERE and mail it in for $14.97 rebate

If you are buying Huggies or Pull Ups Jumbo packs make sure to print your receipt a second time and submit to Caregivers for an extra rebate of .75/pack! Check out CAREGIVERS MARKETPLACE here.

I just found out about the Caregivers Marketplace about 6 weeks ago. You get a 75 cent rebate for jumbo packages of Huggies diapers, Pull Ups, or Huggies swim diapers purchased in 2009. 75 cents doesn't sound like much. But since we file all of our receipts by month, I was able to go through the old receipts and find over $10 worth of rebates in just a few minutes. I just got my check in the mail this week. Yay for free money!

Also, it you have any manufacturers coupons, after you sign up for your account, you can mail the coupons in, wait for them to credit to your diapers.com account, and then do your order.

You can get all different brands of diapers, but I am a Huggies fan, and I have been saving up Huggies coupons. So this is what I am going to do:

1- Order 5 packages of Huggies for 9.99 each = $49.95 (order of $49+ gets free shipping!)
2- Use $10 discount code
3- Submit rebate for $14.97

Just doing this much, you get 5 packages of Huggies for $24.98 or $4.99 each delivered to you door. (My friend got hers in 2 days.)

In addition, I have a couple of manufacturers coupons I sent in, and am just waiting for them to credit to my account before I order. And I'm going to submit a copy of my receipt to Caregivers Marketplace for an additonal $4.25 rebate. All this equals dirt cheap diapers for just a little effort.

If any of you are interested in printing coupons for Huggies little movers or little snugglers (I think these are the Huggies Supremes), you can print 2 per computer at coupons.com, and two per computer at smartsource.com. I printed these just a couple of days ago, and I think they are still available.

Happy Diaper Shopping! Share this deal with all your friends!

10 K WE'RE ON OUR WAY!

Daniel and I ran our first practice 10K this week. We made it the whole 6.2 miles! Unfortunately, an hour + in the jogging stroller is not very enjoyable for the the kids. The only way we could keep the whining and squirming under control for that long was to keep the licorice coming. This is a picture of them post run. After the thrill of the stroller ride wears off (about 15 minutes into the run), the only solution we have found is sugar, but it kind of makes me feel guilty. Some dietitian mother I am! :)

So, I know it is kind of nerdy to post a picture of coupon/shopping deals. But my trip to Walgreens was so great this week that I can't resist! I got: 5  packages of of tp
                                                            3 boxes of bandaids
                                                            2 boxes of baggies
                                                            4 packages of Trident gum
                                                            3 boxes of Theraflu
2 boxes of Zantac (not going to use,but made $10 profit buying it)
                                                            1 pencil
2 bags of candy for trick-or-treaters
                                                            1 deodorant
                                                            1 chapstick
                                                            2 Glade candle holders
2 boxes of Glade candle refills
I paid $17.60. I got back $3 in register rewards (like cash to use on my next trip to Walgreens), and the stuff I bought qualifies for $12.79 in rebates. So my total for all of this will come out to $1.81 plus a couple of stamps to send in the rebates!

The Intruder

"...Control your tempers...put a smile upon your faces, which will erase anger;speak out with words of love and peace, appreciation, and respect. If you will do this, your lives will be without regret."
~ President Gordon B. Hinckley

As I was getting ready to go to be the other night, I realized that I had forgotten to water the garden. I grabbed my robe and put it on as I was rounding the corner from the bedroom to the family room. I only had a dim light on, but I could clearly see right then a quarter sized giant furry brown spider went running across the floor and under the couch. I don't know if it fell out of my robe (yikes!!!) or just suddenly came running out from a corner...But either way, it was disturbing. I haven't seen a spider anywhere close to that size since I lived in Brazil, and it was very disturbing!
First I got that robe off! I flipped on the main light. Then I tipped the couch over...no spider. I slid the chair back and out ran the brown spider...up the brown couch! I could barely see it in the camo, but I didn't want it to get away again. The only thing I could grab while keeping my eye on the hairy beast was a picture frame. I hit at the spider and missed. It ran off the couch and started across the carpet. It was fast! I hit again and broke off a piece of the picture frame, but it was a miss again. The third time I whacked at the spider, glass shattered everywhere. I lifted up the picture frame...and much to my relief, saw that I had come out the victor. It was then that I looked at the broken frame in my hand and realized that I was holding the above quote. How ironic...I hope there is an exception when furry spiders are running in your house.
I put the spider in a plastic cup and set it on the counter top, so I could show Daniel in the morning. Then I decided to set it outside, just incase it was one of those faking spiders that was going to get up and run away as soon as I left. (It wasn't faking; It was still dead in the cup in the morning. Though I have to admit, it wasn't near so big or scary looking after it was all smashed up and curled in.) Then I picked up the glass and vacuumed. After that whole ordeal, I finally got around to watering the garden. When I came in, Daniel was still snoozing away.
Then next morning I asked Daniel if he wondered what was going on with all the furniture moving, glass breaking, vacuuming that was going on right outside the bedroom door. No...he hadn't heard a thing. Good thing my intruder was only a spider!

The Suzy Surprize!

Last Monday evening, my doorbell rang. I opened the door to find my best buddy Suz! I was so shocked, I about passed out! Suz had flown in from Idaho for an early birthday surprize. I had absolutely no idea she was coming. She secretly planned it all with Daniel! We had an absolutely wonderful, jampacked 3 days together! We shopped, took a tour of the town, ate out at our favorite pizza place, went to the yogurt jungle, had a backyard cookout, and roasted Halloween peeps (YUM!!), ran a 3-miler, stayed up late talking and laughing, looking at old yearbooks, and reminiscing. And of course, we had to visit our favorite water park! Suz also watched the kids while Daniel and I went on a date and went to the temple. I can't think of a better birthday present! Thank you Suzy Q!! We love you!!

Oh, the happiness a 25 cent garage sale hat can bring! Here's my little Bob the Builder! After Jaden got the hat, he decided he needed a tool belt. So we found one of my belts, wrapped it around him 1 1/2 times and stuck his tools in!

Jaden also likes to use belts to make tails and pretend he's a dog. The other day he decided he was a bucking dog. What a crazy little man that makes me smile!

The cowboy, the model, and just some pears

The other day, Jaden decided that he was going to dress up as a cowboy for the trunk or treat party this year. He looked at me and said, "Momma, you're just going to have to find me some little clothes at a sale." Little did he know that momma already bought a fabulous yard sale outfit last Summer, and it was just waiting in the closet for the right opportunity! Jaden squealed with delight when I got his cowboy duds out and exclaimed, "Mommy, this is really cool!" He then had to run and get his boots on, so that he could start roping his stuffed animals. We have since accessorized with a one dollar neckerchief from Walmart and we are ready to go!

I've decided to quit trying to keep my cupboards organized...maybe when Zo goes to school. She's such a natural at kitchenware modeling.

We got a great deal on some pears - 40 pounds for $12! We ate as many as we could, but alas, we could not eat them all, and ended up with a few lovely jars for later! I'm getting lots of practice with this canning thing this year - it's kind of fun!!

Conference Gems

The first weekend of October, we got to listen to 2 days worth of General Conference. We had the privilege to hear from the Prophet and other Church leaders. General Conference happens twice each year, and it is always such a refreshing and uplifting time. I get reminded of my blessings and also of things that I need to work on to become better. Here are a couple of my favorite little conference gems.

President Thomas S. Monson told a story about a father who asked his children each night at dinner: "What did you do for someone today?" (what a great way to help your children learn to love and serve others!)http://lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-1117-27,00.html

Elder David A. Bednar
3 Ways to Become More Dilligent and Concerned in Our Homes:
1. Express love and show love
2. Bear testimony and live it
3. Be consistent

President Henry B. Eyring
-We can and must expect to become better as long as we live
-Love is the motivating principle with which the Lord leads us
-"The greatest joys and the greatest sorrows we experience are in family relationships. The joys come from putting the welfare of others above our own. That is what love is. And the sorrow comes primarily from selfishness, which is the absence of love."http://lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-1117-22,00.html

The full conference report, that is full of hundreds of gems to help us as individuals and to help strengthen our homes and families can be found here.

Runnin' 'em to sleep!

Daniel and I are preparing to run a 10k race. When the sun goes down, we get out the double jogging stroller with a camping light ducktaped to it and go running. Last night we had to bundle up our poor Arizona babies because it was a bone chilling 69 degrees outside. :)
The kids will usually behave long enough to get our run in...as long as we take enough treats. Last night we went on our longest run together so far - 5 miles. We have run farther individually, but that was back in the glory days...long, long ago! :) So 5 miles was a pretty great accomplishment for us last night. Our little darlings, however, did not find it so thrilling... Bedtime sure was easy, though.

Arizona is Beautiful!

A couple of days ago we woke up to weather that was just barely 80 degrees. We were so excited that we didn't even take time to get dressed before running out to play in the backyard! The weather is cooling down and we are so excited to get out of the house!
The garden is growing wonderfully! (This is last week; it looks even better now!) And the hummingbirds are back!

Jaden's been hauling hay, as he tells me. He has a pretty cute little bale there.
(My poor baskets...oh, well! :)

The ball pit has returned. Jaden got this for his first birthday. By the time he turned two he no longer played with it. So it went in the garage for a year. Now it is the greatest new toy all over again!
Jaden wanted to make himself a birthday card the other day. When he was all finished, he decided it would be nice to wear it on his head. What a child! There's always great entertainment around here! :)
