What else we've been up to...

It's amazing what can happen in 5 minutes. What was I thinking, trying to get dressed in my bedroom?...When I came back, Zoee was giggling with delight and dripping with cold fridge water from head to toe, as was the entire kitchen floor, and the hall carpet. Jaden only had one little cup to work with. He must have had it planned to work that fast! His punishment was helping me clean up the mess and losing fridge privileges for a few days. It's an interesting concept to be mad and think something is funny all at the same time...it results in not very harsh discipline.

Sitting in undies eating ice cream cones...the most clean up friendly option.

Miscellaneous kid moments

Rockin'!

The latest Lowe's project

This thing gets lots of use!

Jaden partying with his best buddy, Max. They are 2 weeks apart in age

Zoee loves watermelon...unfortunately it does not love her...Though we have found a new laxative, next time we are in need1:)

The little toots in their boots.

I love watching these tiny little legs wobble all over my house! It makes me smile every day!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Jaden turned 3! We had a little party with some of his friends. Jaden told me that now that he was 3 and a big boy, he would be going to high school now.

My Babies

A quick picture to help pacify the blog starved grandparents:) We love you!

P.S. Today I got an electric lawn mower at a garage sale for $10. How funny. I had never heard of one of those before. But our lawn is so small that the cord reaches around the whole thing just fine! Two other people wanted to buy the mower, but I was already closing the deal. I guess electric lawn mowers are a hot item in Arizona. I learn funny things every day!

UPdate

Daniel has been back in school for a week now. The last few days before school started, the kids and I got to go to work with him and help get his classroom all set up. It was fun for all of us to be working together.

We have some friends with a little boy and girl just about the same age as ours who have agreed to a one Friday a month date night swap. We got to go first - so we tried out a new frozen yogurt place in town this last Friday. I got pistachio and cheesecake swirl. So yummy! Daniel got all kinds of nonsense mixed together. I'm not sure what you call it, but it he liked it! We are looking forward to many more great dates!

We've been doing our best to keep the kids busy since we've been home - having friends over, going to the pool, shopping with mom, playing with all the new dirt cheap school supplies we got, visiting daddy at work - to help them adjust back to life in AZ. We have found that boredom breeds naughtiness around here. And since we've been keeping so busy, there has been very little naughtiness - sigh of relief. However, there has also been very little mommy time, for things like keeping up the blog. So it will probably have to stay on the back burner, at least until the weather allows for herding the kids into the backyard to play! :)

The boys have been keeping the trees and yard in order - early Saturday before it gets over 100 degrees.

Zoee has been chillin' in the toy box (when she's not wobbly walking all over the house with a great big excited almost toothless grin on her face).

Here's Jaden cleaning up his new $5 yard sale toy...

and here he is enjoying it afterward. After hosing his slide down, we hosed him down, so he would be cool enough to stay outside and play for a few minutes!

We've been enjoying family walks and playing on the grass after the sun goes down. Once in a while we'll have a day that will dip below 100 degrees, but we mostly have to just stay in the house, car, store, or public pool until the sun goes away and it cools to the 90s.

My most precious possessions...
This one makes my heart smile.

Happy Birthday Little Zo Bug!

Zoee turned one last week! We had cupcakes with homemade peach jam filling and peach jam "frosting". She had never seen anything like that before. She was trying to grab the fire, so Daniel had to keep a good hold on her.

First she smashed it...

Then she grabbed a handful and looked at it...

Then she tasted it...

Then she wanted MORE!

Jaden had to blow out his own candle, too. We just had a cousins birthday party and gift exchange in Idaho, since none of them get to be at each other's parties. So Jaden didn't understand why this time it was only Zoee's birthday.

Zoee was more excited about the gift bags than anything else. She loves to drag purses and bags around - anything with a handle.

Since Zoee wasn't opening her gifts, Jaden got impatient and tore into them for her.

Zoee, Daddy, and the loot: Shoes, jammies, hair clips, a card, and a little teething toy that Jaden picked out for her.

And here is an attempt at a picture with mom...
"I don't want to be in any more pictures!"

"Not going to do it!"

"I said NO! I'm getting mad now."

"Let me out of here!"

"Oh, okay, I'll cooperate, but quick, Jaden, look away! We wouldn't want them to ever get a picture with both of us looking the same direction!"

Happy birthday, little Zo, we sure love you and enjoy having you in our family!!
