Last Saturday, we took a trip to Phoenix to the Arizona State Fair! Daniel & I love fairs, and the kids enjoyed it, too! We went on the 2-for-1 admission day, and planned to park in the free parking a ways away and hop on the shuttle. We pulled over in a business parking lot to unpack the stroller, the kids, and me, and then send Daniel back to the free parking. However, the business owner, who was charging $10 to park in his lot, told us to just go ahead and park there for free - right across the street from the fair. We must have looked pitiful with our double stroller, carseat, diaper bags, sippy cups, etc, but regardless, we were grateful to him! It's wonderful to still run into nice people! Anyway the fair only cost us $12 plus our food, and we had so much fun! This was the most kid-friendly fair I have ever seen! There were so many fun (& free:) things for Jaden to do. And they even had an air conditioned nursing room set up for me & Zoee. We were very impressed, and will definitely be making this an annual event!
THE FIRST STOP WAS TO WATCH THE ELEPHANT RIDES

NEXT UP WAS A STOP TO HEAR A THOMAS THE TRAIN STORY AND TO GET A PIC WITH THOMAS HIMSELF!

THEN TO THE RACE CAR

THE PETTING ZOO WAS A RIOT - THERE WAS EVERYTHING THERE FROM GOATS TO KANGAROOS, FROM CAMELS TO GIRAFFES, BUT JADEN'S FAVORITE WAS THE CHICKENS! :)

alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5262658548233576306" />baby camel kisses!

THERE WERE ROCKING ANIMALS TO RIDE - AND JADEN TRIED THEM ALL OUT

THEN WE WERE OFF TO THE PUSH CARS

AND THE STRAW BALE MAZE
AND THE TUMBLING MATS

AND THEN THE BEST PART - FAIR FOOD
It's a good thing we only go the the state fair once a year. We saw every heart-stopping food you can imagine, from deep fried pickles, deep fried banana splits, to deep friend cheeseburgers on a stick. It was crazy! We only indulged in a turkey leg, and our very favorite - funnel cake! Yum!

OOPS - WE'RE NOT ALWAYS SO GOOD AT TAKING OUR OWN PICTURE :)

WE DID A LITTLE BETTER ON ATTEMPT #2
Daniel and Jaden also got to go see the "Banana Derby," where monkeys ride on dogs and they race around a track. Zoee and I missed that one due to her lunch time, so unfortunately, there's not a picture of that event :)
ZOEE ENJOYED THE FAIR...

SHE WOKE UP FOR OUR LAST PIC BEFORE WALKING OUT THE GATE! :)

On the way home, we got 2 fresh, juicy watermelons from a roadside stand for $5. Yay for AZ!

Sounds like a lot of fun. Iowa is famous for having one of the biggest state fairs in the country, so we had to check it out after we moved here. That was before we had Alyssa and we both were sick for the next week so it wasn't a good experience for us. We went back again two years later, when we thought Alyssa would enjoy it, but we kind of decided that we didn't enjoy fairs very much. However, your fair looked like a lot more fun than ours. I know what you mean about fair food too. It's hard to believe the things that they can put on a stick and deep fry.
